- Rome, Italy, held its first-ever Dyke March on April 26… the day of the Pope’s funeral!
- Cherry Vann became the first lesbian archbishop in the United Kingdom after an election in Wales.
- More than 100,000 people defied the Hungarian government’s ban on public LGBT events in June by participating in the 30th annual Budapest Pride parade.
- The European Union’s top court ruled that member states must recognise same-sex marriages legally performed in other member states.
- Performative Masc contests took over lesbian communities everywhere, carabiners and all.
- An 81-year-old lesbian, Babs Daitch, won Best Technique at a pie-eating contest in San Francisco.
Sport:
- The Women’s Professional Baseball League launched in 2025, the first U.S. professional women’s baseball league since the 1950s. 98-year-old lesbian pitcher Maybelle Blair, who played in the league that inspired A League of Their Own, threw out the first pitch at an exhibition game.
- The StudBudz, WNBA players Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman, went viral for their entertaining antics in July when they livestreamed the entire WNBA All Star Weekend.

- JoJo Siwa, who identified as a lesbian at the time, cheated on her partner Kath Ebbs with Love Island’s Chris Hughes on Celebrity Big Brother UK. Heteros cheered that she’d “grown out of her lesbianism.” JoJo claimed she felt pressured to identify as a lesbian in the first place. She then adopted an adult image, juxtaposing her prior childlike one, even referring to herself as ‘Joelle’ now that she’s with a man.
- On the Made it Out podcast, Betty Who “holds space” for lesbian musician Reneé Rapp to fall in love with a man one day. She also proudly declared her male partner is a bit of a homosexual fetishist.
- Lily-Rose Depp stirred debate in and outside of the lesbian community when she referred to her female partner, 070 Shake, as her “boyfriend” in an interview.
